UF Sports Performance Center attended Five Points of Life Fitness Expo and Race Weekend

The UF Sports Performance Center (UF SPC) attended the annual Five Points of Life Fitness Expo held on February 15, 2014 at the UF Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Institute (OSMI).  The UF SPC was represented by Drs. Heather Vincent, Kevin Vincent, and Dan Herman, who gave out information and demonstrations of the services the UF SPC provides.

Five Points of Life racers were greeted at the finish line by the UF Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation/UF Sports Performance Center booth (manned by both the Drs. Vincent and Dr. Herman) on February 16, 2014.

The Five Points of Life Fitness Expo and Race Weekend promotes a message of life in two ways:

  • The Five Points of Life raises awareness of the need for lifesaving donations of blood, apheresis, marrow, cord blood, and organ and tissue.
  • In addition, setting a goal of running or walking a marathon is a great way to commit to a fitness plan that can make a permanent difference in someone’s health and life.

Many of the participants and volunteers are donors or recipients; some are both.
