At the end of four years of hard work, the UF College of Medicine Class of 2026 celebrated their achievements with an awards ceremony at the commencement gala on May 15th, 2026. The department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation gives the “Excellence in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Award”, which is presented to a graduating student who has shown exceptional clinical aptitude and dedication to the field of PM&R. This year’s recipient is Jonah Maggard!
Jonah is mentored by Dr. Cole McCarty and has worked closely with many of our residents on their research projects. Jonah was unfortunately unable to attend the commencement gala; thus, he was presented his award by his mentor at clinic on May 29th, 2026. We wish Jonah all the best as he continues his training in PM&R at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
