About Chelsea D Frost

My name is Chelsea Frost, MD, MS, and I am a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician and an assistant professor in the University of Florida Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida as well as my master’s degree and medical degree from USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. Following medical school, I moved to Charlottesville, Virginia, where I completed my residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Virginia. I then completed a fellowship in interventional spine and musculoskeletal medicine at Emory University. Prior to joining UF Health, I served as an assistant professor at USF Health Morsani, where I practiced interventional pain management at Tampa General Hospital.

As a physician, my goal is to work together with my patients to develop a treatment plan that gets them back to their functional goals regarding their spine and musculoskeletal health. I encourage my patients to ask questions to feel fully informed of their own health care. I work comprehensively with my patients to assess their current functional status and goals, and then develop a treatment plan that will help get them back to those activities they love. I have a holistic approach to patient care and fully encourage my patients to be active participants in their health plan. Treatment recommendations can include physical therapy, mindfulness exercises, non-opioid medications and interventional procedures.

My clinical interests include spine and musculoskeletal care, as well as whole-body wellness. I have treated a vast array of athletes — from the weekend warrior to professional players — in addition to non-athletes, to help them achieve their goals and return to their favorite activities. I enjoy helping patients to start moving and to keep moving to maintain their desired active lifestyles.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and rescue pups, and we can often be found on a hiking trail. I also enjoy cooking, weightlifting, running and swimming. I previously swam in high school and on the USF intercollegiate club team throughout college.
