About Shawn M McGargill
Shawn McGargill, M.D., was born in Champaign, Ill. and earned a medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He went on to complete an internship at St. Joseph’s Hospital-Wheaton Fransciscan Healthcare and after, a residency at Medical College of Wisconsin. Following his residency, Dr. McGargill completed an interventional spine fellowship with the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan., in 2016.
Prior to joining UF Health, Dr. McGargill worked as a physical medicine and rehabilitation staff physician at UnityPoint Health in Des Moines, Iowa and Lakeview Specialty Hospital in Waterford, Wis. Before that, Dr. McGargill worked as a research and development technician at Streck Laboratories in Omaha, Neb.
Dr. McGargill is board-certified in physical medicine, and is a past recipient of the Unity Award, the Partner with Nursing Award and the Keep it Simple Staff Award.
