Motor Dysfunction in CTS and Stroke: Hand Strength Study

Join a study exploring how Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) and stroke affect hand strength and muscle activity.

The Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Florida is conducting a study on neuromuscular activation patterns in hand weakness.

Who can join?

  • Adults aged 18–75
  • With one of the following:
    • CTS group – moderate to severe CTS with hand weakness
    • Post-stroke group – stroke >6 months ago with weakness in one arm
    • Combined group – both CTS and stroke-related weakness

What is involved?

  • One visit (~2–3 hours)
  • Non-painful surface EMG testing
  • Grip and pinch strength tasks

Study locations

  • UF Neuro Medicine Hospital (Gainesville)
  • Fixel Institute (SW Williston Rd)
  • Springhill Clinic (NW 39th Ave)
