Didactic Program

The didactic program is organized by the faculty, reviewed, and administered by the Program Director, Dr. Andrew Dubin. All residents and faculty meet for four hours every Wednesday for didactics and to share brief updates on scholarly activities and leadership development among residents. PMR Journal Club occurs once a month, and a faculty member is assigned in advance to direct that club meeting session.

Purpose and Frequency: The formal core curriculum is design to provide a solid foundation in topics relevant to the field of PMR and will be provided once a week.

Curriculum Content Overview: An eighteen month syllabus of lectures will be provided during two hours of the weekly didactics session.

*Learning will extend beyond the lecture hall. Experiential learning about professionalism, talking to patients and injection practices will occur at the Simulation Laboratory (https://simulation.med.ufl.edu/ and https://simulation.med.ufl.edu/anaclerio-learning-assessment-center/). Understanding of the impact of specific diagnoses on physical function and gait will be obtained in the UF Human Dynamics Laboratory.
