University of Florida Health physicians and Florida Alliance for Sports Medicine to host Collaborative Solutions for Safety in Florida High School sports.

UF Health sports medicine physicians, along with the Florida Alliance for Sports Medicine, will help host regionally selected guests to discuss high school sports safety in Florida. The two-day meeting will conclude with safety policy recommendations that will be submitted to the Florida High School Athletic Association and The Sunshine State Athletic Conference to be immediately adopted statewide.

Policy and discussion topics include:

  • Automated external defibrillators
  • Concussion
  • Emergency action plans
  • Exertional heat stroke
  • Heads up football
  • Wet bulb glob thermometers

The event is being hosted at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium and takes place on:

  • Thursday March 9, 2017
    12:00pm – 5:00pm
  • Friday March 10, 2017
    8:30 am- 12:00pm
